Miami – March 10, 2015Dream in Green (DIG) is pleased to announce that 1 Hotel South Beach will be hosting its 2015 Living the Dream Annual Fundraiser and Green Innovator Awards on Friday, May 8, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Opening mid-March 2015, 1 Hotel South Beach is the first hotel for SH Group’s new 1 Hotels Brand, which is set to be an industry game-changer, with goals of truly upending the world of hospitality through a socially and environmentally conscious platform in celebration of the beauty and preservation of nature.

“We are truly excited to collaborate with 1 Hotel South Beach,” says DIG Board Chair Jenny May. “As we combine forces, we are sending out an important message to the community that making small changes in our living habits can have a dramatic effect on a healthier and cleaner lifestyle. We are so thankful to 1 Hotel South Beach for believing in our work and embracing those values and our mission.”

The event brings together South Florida’s environmentally conscious community to support educational programs, celebrate Dream in Green’s success and showcase the 2015 Green Innovator Awards recipients. The Green Innovator Awards was launched in 2007 to recognize outstanding companies and individuals for their leadership, vision and environmental stewardship in South Florida. Previous Green Innovator Award recipients include former City of Miami Mayor Manuel Diaz, Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, The Heat Group, Miami Marlins and Waste Management. Emmy Award-winning WPLG weathercaster Trent Aric will emcee the award ceremony. Guests will have an opportunity to bid on silent auction items and enjoy an eco-fashion show during a cocktail reception featuring lavish fresh farm hors d’oeuvres and premium drinks.

“1 Hotels is not just a brand, it’s a movement,” says Michael Laas, SH Group Director of Impact. “We are challenging ourselves and others to live in greater harmony with this world, and are so pleased to support Dream in Green in helping raise awareness for current issues facing our environment and paving the way for a better future that we can all be a part of.”

All proceeds from the Living the Dream fundraiser will benefit DIG programs. Tickets are $100 per guest, with early bird tickets now available at $80 and may be purchased by visiting Eventbrite.
