Year 20: 2026
Celebrating 20 years of instilling environmental stewardship in our future generation.
Released it’s annual Impact Report for the sixth continuous year and published it’s 2nd Strategic Plan 2024-2027.

Year 19: 2025
Relaunch of Recyclepedia tool with additional features ex. games for students and community calendar.
Green Leadership Grants awarded $100,000 to schools since its inception.
- The Green Schools Challenge educates over 14,000 students and 1,000 educators!
- Global E-STEM Excellence Prize recipient awarded by Pratt & Whitney and the North American Association of Environmental Education (NAAEE).
- First Orange County School registered for the program.


Year 18: 2024
Awarded a formal partnership with the School District of Palm Beach, launching the Green Schools Challenge.
Conducted the 135th WE-LAB workshop since inception in South Florida.
Receiving a proclamation from Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Awarded in recognition of DIG as a ‘Sustainability Education Organization’ for Miami Dade County Public Schools.

Year 15: 2021
The Dream in Green Academy simply becomes the Green Schools Challenge.
Launched the program in Broward County School district and entered a formal partnership.
Launched the original Recyclepedia Website and application on Android. DIG received the Innovation Prize from the Children’s Trust to create its original Recyclepedia Website + application on Android.
Geared up for the 15th year with a record number of events in 2022.
Won the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation’s “Innovation in Education” award.

Year 12: 2018
The Dream in Green Academy is transformed into 3 separate Green Schools Challenge Curriculums for ES, MS, HS.
Became part of Resilient305
Strategic partners. They launched in 2009 as a comprehensive, collaborative strategy to address regional economic, environmental, and social changes.
Launched a new partnership with Live Arts Miami providing art workshops & performances related to the environment and sustainability increasing DIG’s STEAM content.

Year 9: 2015
The Green Schools Challenge program was able to register over 115 schools.
Received Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties for the Water & Energy Learning and Behavior
(WE-LAB) Program.

Year 3: 2009
Received Sustainable South Florida Award for Green Education & Outreach from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce

Year 1: 2006
Dream in Green was established as a non-profit.
Green Schools Challenge program began with 3 schools.
Certificate of Recognition for Miami’s First CO2 Emissions Event hosted by Dream in Green from Mayor Manuel A. Diaz, the City of Miami.
Dream in Green became official M-DCPS partners.
