MIAMI – April 13, 2015 – Dream in Green (DIG), along with its sponsors, is pleased to announce the 2015 Green Innovators to be honored at the 2015 Living the Dream Annual Fundraiser and Green Innovator Awards on Friday, May 8, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 1 Hotel South Beach, 2341 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach. The Green Innovator Awards was launched in 2007 to recognize outstanding companies and individuals for their leadership, vision and environmental stewardship in South Florida. Previous award recipients include former City of Miami Mayor Manuel Diaz, Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, The Heat Group, Miami Marlins and Waste Management. This year’s honorees include:

  • Green Innovator in Business:              Covanta Energy
  • Green Innovator in Government:       Mayor Philip Levine, City of Miami Beach
  • Green Community Innovators:           Greg Hamra & Leisha John
  • Green Facilitator:                                   1 Hotel South Beach

“This year’s recipients of Dream in Green’s Green Innovators Awards are true leaders in environmental sustainability which are making an impact here in our own community. Having been nominated and selected by the DIG Board of Directors, we look forward to honoring them at our annual fundraiser.” says DIG Executive Director Karla Utting.

Living the Dream brings together South Florida’s environmentally conscious community to support educational programs, celebrate Dream in Green’s success and showcase the Green Innovator Awards recipients. Emmy Award-winning WPLG weathercaster Trent Aric will emcee the award ceremony. Guests will have an opportunity to bid on silent auction items and enjoy a green fashion show during a cocktail reception featuring lavish hors d’oeuvres and premium drinks.

DIG is honored to have the annual event hosted by 1 Hotel South Beach. Recently opened, 1 Hotel South Beach is the first hotel for SH Group’s new 1 Hotels Brand, which is set to be an industry game-changer, with goals of truly upending the world of hospitality through a socially and environmentally conscious platform in celebration of the beauty and preservation of nature.
