Environmental stewardship has been an important part of Ransom Everglades and is one of the school’s six major goals with in its 2009 improvement plan. Students at the school took water conservation to the next level by replacing older plumbing fixtures with high-efficiency fixtures with motion sensors, retrofitting existing traditional filtered tap water fountains with water bottle filling stations throughout campus, reducing the demand for disposable water bottles.

Students are afforded the opportunity to join sustainability and gardening clubs. School gardens provide experiential learning opportunities for students and resources for dining services.

In addition, campuses are designed and maintained to take advantage of the environment with many outdoor areas for students to congregate and enjoy the unique natural features of Coconut Grove and the Biscayne Bay.
