WE-LAB Schools

About the Program

The Water and Energy Learning and Behavior (WE-LAB) program is offered as a ‘graduate’ level curriculum to schools that have participated in the Green Schools Challenge for two or more years.

WE-LAB Schools teaches K-12 school children about the fundamental relationship between  water and energy. The program also offers free educational workshops and interactive tools to motivate students, teachers and parents to adopt water and energy-saving behaviors, and foster long-term environmental stewardship through money-saving actions.

WE-LAB information is accessible via the website www.we-lab.net. WE-LAB schools are encouraged to use the interactive blog to tell DIG and  community members about their water and energy saving journeys.

The Challenge

WE-LAB Schools is a challenge. K-12 Schools form green teams to complete four WE-LAB monthly challenge activities and earn points towards their final score. Schools participating in WE-LAB are recognized at the end-of-year awards ceremony in the category ‘WE-LAB School’.
